How to classify hearing material
A committee page, transcript, and written witness statement are authentic government records of what was submitted or said. They are not all the same evidence type. AARO testimony describes an agency position; whistleblower or pilot testimony records a witness's claims; a member's opening statement is not a committee finding.
2026 document request
On March 31, 2026, a House Oversight task force requested four described videos from the defense secretary, with an April 14 response date. The letter proves that Congress requested the materials. It does not prove the reported objects' nature or that every requested video has been publicly released.
What this record does not prove
Testimony under oath is consequential but is not the same as independent verification. A hearing's existence does not mean Congress confirmed every allegation, and references to classified or closed-session material do not reveal what that material establishes.
